The mosque of Sidi Sayed is one of the most prominent mosques in the Ahmedabad city. Constructed in the year 1573, the mosque was established by Sidi Sayed, a slave of Sultan Ahmed Shah. Sidi Sayed mosque in Ahmedabad, India consists of ten semi circular windows, the appeal of which is accentuated by the splendid mesh covering them, which is more popularly known as 'Jali'.

This monument has gained a worldwide recognition, due to its splendor. This skillfully carved mosque is truly the one of its kinds in the whole world. The Jali screen windows represent the Indo-Saracenic styling, which is admired by people all over the world. Consisting of delicately carved windows, the mosque is known for its stone tracery. The construction work of the Sidi Sayed mosque was taken up in the last year of the Sultanate rule in Gujarat.

Named after the Hindu wife of Sultan Mohmed Beghara, Rani Rupmati's Masjid in Mirzapur was built between 1430 to 1440 A. D. It has three domes supported by pillars with the central dome slightly elevated so as to allow natural light into the mosque.

The mosque has richly carved minarets, balcony windows and perforated stone lattices. Its three domes are linked together by a flat roof. However, the mosque and tomb of Rani Sipri at Astodia surpasses it for its planning, structural arrangement richly carved minarets. Popularly known as Masjid-e-Nagina, this mosque is the most exquisite gem of Ahmedabad.

It is a circular lake constructed in 1451 by Sultan Qutubub-Din. In the center of the lake is an island garden with a summer palace known as Nagina Wadi. The lake is a popular recreation center, surrounded by parks, 'Bal Vatika', an aquarium, a boat club, a natural historical museum and a zoo.

On a quiet stretch of the Sabarmati river is the Gandhi Ashram set up in 1917. During the lifetime of Mahatma Gandhi it was known as Satyagraha Ashram and was the center of India's freedom movement. It was from here, in 1930, that the Mahatma began his famous "Dandi March" to the sea to protest against the Salt Tax imposed by the British. 'Hridaya Kunj', the simple cottage where he lived, is preserved as a National Monument. A Gandhi Memorial Center, a Library and a Sound-and-Light spectacle offer an interesting display of the Mahatma's life and work.

Adalaj is a small village, situated at a distance of 18 km to the north of Ahmedabad. Vav means a step well. Adalaj Vav was built by Queen Rudabai, in 1499 AD. A beautifully chiseled step well, Adalaj Vav is counted amongst the finest architectural structures of Gujarat.The unique feature of Adalaj Vav is that apart from conserving water for drinking purposes, it also serves as a cooling chamber in the hot summer months. The steps of the well were used by the travelers and caravans passing from the area, on the due course of their trade routes. With time, the well has become a memorial of the love of the queen for her husband. One can still see water in the well which is a living example of spirit of the queen.

Known as Shaking Minaret or Jhulta Minar. When one minarets is shaken the other one begins to vibrate. The mosque was obviously built by master craftsmen and the crucial mechanism that causes the vibration is still a mystery.

Teen Darwaja is a triple arched gateway, situated in the city of Ahmedabad. It is the landmark of the city and is an architectural masterpiece. The gateway was built by the founder of Ahmedabad, Sultan Ahmed Shah. The foundation of the splendid monument was laid down in the year 1411 AD. Teen Darwaja serves as the entrance to the Royal Square (Maidan Shahi). The imposing structure in the city is known for its extraordinary proportions and ornamentation. Calico Museum of Textiles is one of the finest museums to be set up in India. It was inaugurated in the year 1949 by the then Prime Minister of India, Jawahar Lal Nehru. The museum houses one of the rare collections of textiles, dating back to the 17th century. It is presently located in the Sarabhai Foundation, in the Shahibag premises. Calico museum is the world's best museum on textiles. Ahmedabad has been a major textile trade center sine the 15th century.

Sardar Patel National Memorial is one of the most important buildings in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat. It is a museum as well as an exhibition center, dedicated to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It is located in the Moti Shahi Mahal, in Shahibag premises.
